Cream tea in Finchingfield

I was remembering our camping trip nr Saffron Waldron, we visited Finchingfield and went to the pub for a drink, the poor landlady came from upstairs to serve us saying she was trying to move in upstairs and run the pub and hadn't worked behind a bar before. She left us saying call her if we needed anything a couple of pub regulars came in and we tried to call her with no luck so be general consensus it was decided I would run the bar and everyone would try and give me the nearest cash to the price of their drink. This worked well she finally came down when it was time to close and we explained what we had done gave her the money and a list of what we sold. It turned out her husband had brought the pub but had to work for another week so that day she was moving in with her toddler and was happy we had helped. It was fun.

I also rembered our visit to the tearoom where we ordered cream tea, the waitress asked if we knew about cream teas as they got a lot of American visitors who would put the cream in the tea. They got very busy and some Americans came in and ordered cream tea but no one told them. We heard loud voices calling the waitress saying there's something wrong with the cream it's not mixing in the tea. We were shaking our heads trying to think why anyone would try and put clotted cream in tea.
